Back to Holdem

First off, Congrats to Johnny Buzz on taking down the tourney last week with a dominating performance. Johnny was busting people with any two cards he got dealt and there was no stopping him once he had 30,000 chips. I showed up knowing I was going to win it all because my wife predicted it but alas, I could not overcome the roll Johnny was on. I wound up with a deserving second. I played very well and avoided a few traps on the way but I only had 6500 chips heads up against Johnnys 30,000 + and it didn t take long for me to lose with the first good ace I was dealt. The blinds were up to $500 and $1000 and I took my shot and lost.

I am so glad to be back to Holdem again. I busted Tobys ass three times and watch him buy back in. By the third time I busted him out, he had finally shut up about being the Omaha King and busting me out last week early at the final table. So nice to let you play do the talking once in a while. I have begun to take the Friday game with a different approach. Less joking around and more focus. I sit stonefaced for long periods and the guys keep asking me if I am feeling ok. They can't get a read on me. I make the same size raises with whatever I hold and I'm not making huge overbets to discourage chasers. I am making strong bets in good position and hoping they chase me. I'm off this week but I'll be back on the 16th for some more action.
